Casual elegance are the watchwords here. Meet a moose, then join us for a drink at the bar. Spend the day playing, then curl up with a good book in front of one of our many fireplaces, or find one of our quiet nooks or crannies for a chat. Watch the sunset glow from our dining rooms while you sip champagne and enjoy our chef’s classic cooking. Walk silently under the evening stars. Peep into the heavens through one of our telescopes. Fall asleep watching the moon rise over the mountains. Sleep in if you wish – there is no traffic to wake you.
We offer 28 guest rooms and suites, full dining in both our formal dining rooms and in our tavern, and extensive meeting facilities. Enjoy our library (with books for trading), formal parlor (if you can play the piano, we’d love to listen!), and TV/game room (including videos) – all with fireplaces, of course! Watch the sun rise and set over the mountains without leaving your chair.
Every guest room has an unobstructed mountain view. Some rooms are furnished with antiques from the original Sunset Hill House. Some have gas fireplaces, or double Whirlpool tubs, or a private deck, or all of these! All are spotless, with private baths.
Our Master Suites are the epitome of luxury, with separate living rooms, two person Whirlpools, fireplace, and some with private deck and wet bar.
Relax in front of your private gas fireplace, or in your Whirlpool-for-two in one of our grand rooms with a queen or king sized bed. Some are “turret rooms” with window seats, all are large and beautifully appointed.
Traditional rooms range from large and lovely to cozy rooms tucked under the mansard roof. Some are furnished with antiques from the original Sunset Hill House, others adjoin, or have twin beds––perfect for families.
During warm weather, relax on our mountain patio or take a dip in our outdoor heated pool (with a view of course). Walk 50 feet to the first tee and play all the golf you can stand, greens fees included (cart required). Stroll into the village or along one of our flower-lined paths. Lawn games are always available – play croquet or bocce, toss horseshoes, or fly a kite.
If its snowy, consider cross country skiing or snowshoeing – we have 30 km of trails from the front door, and our neighbor down the hill has another 50.
